I think you really missed the point of this video.

  • CMUBlonde:

The whole “drugs and alcohol” part is complete nonsense. Not everyone with an ED ends up chemically dependent just because they’re annoyed and lonely. These types of commercials mean well, I’m sure, but they’re not always well researched as is evident here….

  • mlloyd90:

I think the video lost its point in all its invalidity. I don’t blame people that suffer from anorexia, but I won’t kid myself in saying that its because of mothers and fathers pressured them into it, its society and the media, and in some cases it goes passed the media. it’s an illness that is unfairly blamed on parents and friends who “should have done something” or “are to blame.” it’s an illness; sometimes there isn’t anyone to blame.

  • ajandlady:

you NEED drugs and alcohol??? not everyone with eating disorders turns to drugs…but pretty good vid otherwise

  • Lillyanahope05:

hey dumbass!! you need to research more cuz u dont know shit about anorexia!!

  • Butterflyy19:

.. It´s clear you don´t know anything about anorexia.

  • denouements:

Its almost turning into the whole ADHD phenomenon. If you arent already an anorexic, stay away. One, its NOT worth it. Two, youre denying other real anorexics from getting the proper help they need. Doctors, physiatrists bombarded with all these unnecessary cases, at some point of time run out of patience. Even when people that really need help come along, they think they’re just another fogey. Result, people who really need help don’t get the help they need.

I mean is anorexia turning into some hip new thing for kids to follow nowadays? Having gone through/ still going through it i get kind of pissed off. You dont suddenly decide to turn anorexic one fine day. thats just being PLAIN ATTENTION SEEKING. Go see a shrink if you have a problem dont go about trying to turn ana, and adding on to the huge mass of confusion and misunderstanding that people already have of anorexics.

  • denouements:

I get how people are trying to raise awareness, but has anyone considered how in a certain sense, all this hype around anorexia might actually cause more young girls and (not forgetting guys of course), to consciously “want” to become anorexic? Increasing numbers of “wannarexics” kids that aren’t sick are flooding pro anorexia forums in search of ways to turn anorexic.

One that i saw even outright asked, how can i turn ana? what can i do to turn ana?

  • stephez:

You know what, i totally agree.

  • racyweirdo:

the last comment in the video was not fair
ITS A DISORDER!!!!! you can’t help it, how can you blame them for hurting friends and family. they dont mean to!!! HOW CAN THEY SAY THAT!!!!! its just the meanest thing ever

  • AC6773:

See…I didn’t see it that way. I was just about to write that I liked the last comment. After watching so many videos that comment I have not heard. I don’t think it was meant in a bad way, but just like any illness of course the patient is going through pain, but the people that love them are too. That’s just my interpretation of that last quote.

  • swimchick2823:

this video is only taling about the steirotypical idea of what anorexia is all about. it is much more then just wanting to be thin and pretty. i suffer from both anorexia and bulimia and yes i do want to be thinner but that isnt really why i am doing all of this. if it was just me wanting to be thinner of to loo better i would do it the healthy way and not tress everyone out. it is very selfish to cause all these problems if it is just to look pretty and thin. i hope this made sence

  • SkyAllViolet:

I don’t think ALL people experiening guilt for being anorexic turn to drugs. “You will turn to drugs…” um, no.

  • tomato98522145:

hmm the part on turning into alcohol and drug addicts i totally agree with you, perhaps the author of this video had taken it too far. but i feel that bulimia might arise in the midst of suffering from anorexia..different people develop their sickness differently. because i was anorexic and i became partially bulimic after months of restricting and starving..so yea..no offense alright..

  • WoLfsBlOoD0:

Hey. This video is meant as an informative. Everyone has a right to their opinion. It’s true that it’s wrong to torment those around you but the torment isn’t intentional on those people. Anorexia is meant to torment only the physical aspect of human lives. Unless you’ve experienced anorexia, its best to keep your wellfed mouth shut because taunting an irritable person on something that you know nothing about is stupid. Think of this video as an opinion Its not a fact even if statistics are true

  • Timvanoirbeek:

People who defend anorexia disgust me.

And anorexia is in my eyes the ‘weakling’ way to lose weight. If you are really obsessed by losing weight, do it by sports, it’s way more healthy than anorexia, even in excessive amounts…
But no, that would require effort, and that’s too much for spoiled brats who don’t even have the ability to have their own opinion about looks.

  • captainoats112:

this is so SCARY!! i can’t believe there are girls who feel that this is NORMAL… i just found this site called “prettythin” ..it is scary! i feel bad for these people.. why!??!

  • sabbboy:

This is very sad. I do blame the media. Young girls start to think something is wrong with them because they don’t look like the girls on Tv. We really need to incourage young girls that beauty isn’t all there is to be a beautiful woman.

  • xAnaxMiax67:

    Alcohol? Yes.
    Drugs? Yes.
I saw myself in this video.
    Nice Job

  • LamarCheer09:

No because the media doesn’t do anything. People tell each other oh well you’re fat and they start losing weightand ends up in anorexia. It’s many things. people get in sports like cheerleading its many things.

  • queenofthededded:

thats exactly what i was thinking! i’m like…oh so i became a drug addict when exactly?

  • thin100:

okej i think i just posted without finishing my coment. and sorry for the bad english. well i’ not anorexic, i’m way to fat for that, really. i weigh 52 kg :( thats like 114 pounds i think. this video is so true in many ways, i’m sorry if i’m hurting my familly by dong this but i can’t and i don’t want to stop. my goal weight is somewhere around 40 kg thats like 88 pounds. to some of you that may sound little but some of you knows exactly what i mean.

  • thin100:

Okej i didn’t post the first comment, what i wrote in the first comment was that i’¨m sorry about my name, i chosed the name when i was really pro ana and ‘m not anymore, atleast not as much. i also wrote that it was my birtday yesterday and i had cake and now i hate myself so uch that i wont eat for a week, i didn’t eat today and i’m fine.

Maybe i need help maybe i dont, but i know i can’t get help cause that would be the end, i would be fat foreverand i cant stand that. i’m sorry.

  • puttytat96:
