I’m a Vet. spent Christmas 89 in Panama getting the country back from Noriega and Christmas 90 in Desert Shield/Storm. And it was not Nam, Korea, WW I or II, but, all of us voulenteered to serve this GREAT COUNTRY. So all of you MORONS who like to blast this Country and the Military, bend backwards and KISS OUR MILITARY ASSES, it’s because of us you have the right to be a MORON. Be safe and come home soon and well my Brothers and Sisters in Arms

Sometimes life seems to swallow you whole into a deep hole of darkness, and everything goes wrong. And there is sadness and anger in your heart… and then you see something like this. You listen to the story of someone who is in a position so much worse than yours, by CHOICE. for YOU. for ME. And suddenly the world isn’t so dark. Thank you for my freedom. Thank you for protecting my son, and my family. My husband is a vet… When I see this I understand how he keeps hope when I lose it.

So for those of you who desire to spit on these people, who care nothing for them… that’s fine. We who do will more than make up for the few ignorant people who don’t. But be clear about what you’re insulting. AMERICA is an idea. FREEDOM is an idea. And the military is like FAITH. You may not agree with it, but I bet you mourn for those who have died on your side of it. This is no different. One man is no less honorable than another because of what side he supports.

matter to many people. You may not agree with what they do, but you can respect them as peoples. As individuals. They SUFFER so that you, and I may not have to. They are scarred, and they will lose pieces of themselves that they can never reclaim. They are permanently changed so that you can remain the same. We honor them for the values and the traits they have. You haven’t seen anybody on here going ‘GOD BLESS THE GOVERNMENT.’ You see them saying ‘GOD BLESS THE MILITARY.’

They gain nothing by risking life and limb to see you safe. They get nothing for being away from their friends and families for YEARS. They can never get back the experience of watching their kids grow, and many of them may die before they know who their kids are. It doesn’t matter if what they’re doing is pointless, or if it’s the most meaningful thing in the world. Its their souls that we honor. Their courage, and their bravery. Their Chilvalry in an age when all of that doesn’t really

They signed up to DEFEND, and to HELP. They signed up to GIVE and get malice in return. This is not to honor the government, whether its decisions are wrong or not. It is to honor these people who thought of more than just themselves. Many who paid the ultimate price for FREEDOM. For a concept that is not tangible. That is honor. You may not agree with the government, but you can respect the people who are doing something that is for you.

After reading a lot of the comments, old and new on here I feel the need to say something. We are not celebrating war by honoring these men and women. It has nothing to do with war. It has to do with their hearts, and their valor. I respect them for their sacrifice, a sacrifice most of us are unwilling to make. A man or woman, of any race and any religion is honorable when the intentions are sound. These people did not sign up to KILL people. They did not sign up to DESTROY.
