there seems to be two extremes; the ones who seem ashamed and the ones who are a little too proud, like charlotte church who never bloody shuts up. its like “okay, you’re welsh, we get it”

this one was the second I believe, after the first turned out to be a huge success

where does ’spartacus’ come from?

True enough about Zeta Jones, but I’ve read an interview with Hopkins saying that he loves the land of his birth. He has plenty of nice things to say about Wales.

Kirk Douglas (Zeta-Jones’ dad-in-law) played Spartacus in the 1960 film.

So much Wales hate… I love Wales, it’s so much more beautiful than England and the accent is amazing… England does have London though…

I’m American, looove F&S (and British Comedy in general), and love all of Britain, since my ancestors hail from England, Scotland, and Wales…

I lose it when she says “fabbalus!” then gets all serious. I love these parodies. Dawn French is awesome.

“Spartacus” is a reference to CZJ’s husband’s family…. her father-in-law is Kirk Douglas.

Even funnier is the Dylan Thomas parody after about 2mins 41 secs. It is brilliantly written and wonderfully delivered. (Dylan was from Swansea). I actually laughed out loud all the way thru this….and I hate Rene Hellcatswigger
Brooksider100 / November 3, 2009 6:23 am
Dawn French is from Anglesey which is like the Dark Side of the Moon compared to Swansea which is where CZJ is from. They are almost as different as Yorkshire and Cornish….same country but the voices are totally different.
Dawn also brings in Ruth Madoc’s ‘Gladys Pugh’ voice from Hi-Dee-Hi. Makes it funnier because Gladys is common and tries to be posh…so the inference with CZJ is clear. Very funny and pokes fun at Welsh hypocrisy…I am Welsh and it made me laugh out loud several times.

The Renee Zellwegger part was awesome – RESULT!

That’s hilarious. Dawn really is something. I also like most the part about Renee Zellwegger – living dead. ORIGINAL.
