This, my wife and I believe, is truly one of Martin’s most hilarious and perceptive routines, but it would be much more effective video-wise if we could view the SNL segment with Steve doing this bit in an armchair.
I really miss those good ol’ SNL skits with true comic geniuses like Martin (though he was NEVER a member of the cast), Aykroyd, Belushi, Murphy, Chase, Radner, Franken, et al. Some of the stuff you see nowadays (like “Digital Shorts”) is just simply deplorable. Another non-cast member of the show I LOVE is Chris Walken. “The Continental.” Why can’t they come up with stuff like that any more??? : (
yeah, he has been phoning it in lately. his earlier films were funny as hell. the Jerk, Dead men don’t wear plaid, All of me… ect… it’s take the money and run for him these days.
Gotta grab a paycheck somehow, I seriously doubt today’s audience could even hold onto enough attention for Steve these days.. sad. Motherfucker was funny as hell.. and still is.
Ya, I know how ya feel…. but my fave and I’m sure Steve’s is too….revenge against my enemies….especially the weak, shallow ones. I’m sure you know how that tune goes.
