I really like her and her music, but this album is REALLY vulgar, isn’t it?
newt456 / November 12, 2009 11:19 pm
Where would you get Vulgar from? It really is not that out there.

Ehhh, I don’t think so. it’s alot more mature but not vulgar. Eminem and ICP is vulgar but this is nothing close.

I also got that feeling. ^^
She has much better songs.

I actually think it’s rather refreshing. When it’s Utada singing, it really just feels like she’s teasing and just having fun because we know she usually sings cleaner songs than this. It’s understandable how people would be taken aback (I was, at first, kind of offended that she took a song like Mr. Lawrence and paired it up with lyrics like these.)
As long as it doesn’t negatively affect her songwriting in Japan, I’m all for it.

why you so messed up Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence shame on you!
Nonya63 / November 17, 2009 3:55 am
why you so messed up a classic Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence what does star trek and Captain Picard have to do with Ryuichi Sakamoto.
bluunmei / November 17, 2009 7:02 am
The original is beautiful, but I don’t think she was trying to ‘redo’ the classic version. Artists use things like samples a lot, and the resulting work isn’t always reflective of the original.

utada is awesome.. but i love her older works better.. no offense but her new music is kinda lacking..
this verison is nice, but what is up with the lyrics? lol it would’ve been better if the lyrics were less… lame lol because merry christmas mr. lawrence(the original) is a classic and if the lyrics were better it would have been nice lol

The mantra Om Mani Päme Hum is easy to say yet quite powerful, because it contains the essence of the entire teaching. When you say the first syllable Om it is blessed to help you achieve perfection in the practice of generosity, Ma helps perfect the practice of pure ethics, and Ni helps achieve perfection in the practice of tolerance and patience. Pä, the fourth syllable, helps to achieve perfection of perseverance, Me helps achieve perfection in the practice of concentration,
