As much as I hate AT&T,.. 3G coverage is not everything. These ads depict AT&T as having NO coverage, which is completely false. AT&T has a huge 2G network that the iPhone uses as well. 3G is only 2x faster than 2G, and 2G is slow as balls. 3G is 2x faster than slow as balls, making it subpar at best. Also, 3G eats up tons of battery life in phones, so people tend to keep it turned off.
Verizon should just come out with an ad that says “PLEASE APPLE! GIVE US THE IPHONE!” lol
The ad shows “AT&T 3G Coverage” not “AT&T data coverage”, so I believe the map accurately depicts what it says. But yes, smart ad design gives a perception that may be there is no coverage.
If 3G is “only 2x faster than 2G” I wonder why Apple went soooo crazy with iPhone “3G”.
Well they’re implying that you can’t use any of the APPs without 3G coverage. And also look at the silent messages.. like the guy tapping his iPhone like it’s not working. They’re accurately depicting the 3G coverage, but they’re being completely misleading as to what that entails.
Apple went “sooo crazy” with the iPhone 3G because the industry went “sooo crazy” for 3G coverage. There were reviews blasting the iPhone for “lack of 3G coverage” when it was first released. Apple just adapted.
hahaha i love all the verizon commercials!! i hate att with the passion!! they suck ass so much! omg i hate their customer service! and i hate their coverage!! one more thing… i hate every time i say something bad about att one of their costumers will reply me and try offend me because they are insecure of their choice going to att so they try to make it seem like they are happy with att despite the service and they dont want to admit its just for the iphone!
i heard att is gonna sue verizon for this?????im pretty sure thats being childish…i dont think they said anything about att being lame so……hahaha the att people are a pack of babies
AT&T did not file this lawsuit because Verizon’s “There’s A Map For That” advertisements are untrue; AT&T sued because Verizon’s ads are true and the truth hurts
They’re implying the individual will have difficulty. Where in the commercial do you see they cant use ANY APPS? And how is it misleading? Try to download a youtube video on EDGE. Lets see how long that takes? As for 3G, the industry went so crazy? While the world is on 4G and higher, Iphone couldnt even get 3G to begin with. Whats funny is ATT shows the exact 3G map on their own website ! HA !

Stop the nonsense. Ive read your posts, you might know marketing but you know squat about technology or phones. Do you know the Iphone has issues with the 3G network and why it results in low battery? its not because of 3g, its because the lack of in AT&T network which results in the iphone “seeking” towers which ultimately results in battery usage. Just so you know , Apply will be launching a phone for VZ once the contract is over. LTE will be set to launch in mid 2010 , what a coincidence
Heres another one for you since you are in “marketing” . The Ads are not set to make fun of Apple. They are attacking AT&T for the truth of what 3G coverage they have. The same map you and anyone else can go to ATT coverage viewer. Thats the ironic part of their lawsuit, they actually confirm the maps are CORRECT.
When did I say they were attacking Apple? Oh right,… I didn’t. Don’t know why you’re so angry.
And do you have a link or something to back up the iPhone Verizon deal? I would be interested to hear how they’re going to fix their data coverage… then again I don’t know anything about technology or phones.. at all… ever.
